Structure and composition:
Thickener is usually constructed from structural materials such as concrete, wood, or metal welded plates, and its typical feature is a cylindrical shallow groove with a conical bottom.
It mainly consists of two parts: a circular concentration tank and a rake scraper. The concentration tank is used for solid-liquid separation, while the rake scraper is responsible for continuously discharging the sediment deposited at the bottom of the tank.
Working principle:
Under the action of gravity, solid particles in the slurry will settle in the concentration tank, forming a bottom flow slurry with high solid content.
At the same time, a relatively clean clarified liquid is produced in the upper part, which overflows from the upper edge of the circular chute or concentration tank at the top.
The rake scraper operates at a slow speed (usually 1/3-1/5r/min) to discharge the thickened bottom slurry from the bottom outlet of the thickener.
